About Julie Klamon, LMFT

Julie Klamon, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Agoura Hills, CA

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #37704) in Agoura Hills, California. I help children (ages 8+), teens, parents, and adults overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, and the challenges of major life transitions. I offer both in-person therapy at my Agoura Hills office and secure virtual sessions for clients anywhere in California.

Over 20 Years of Clinical Experience

I have spent over 20 years helping children, teens, and families work through some of their most difficult challenges. Prior to opening my private practice in Agoura Hills, I worked for over a decade at a leading Los Angeles agency supporting children and teens in recovery from sexual trauma. I also worked with the UCLA Rape Treatment Center providing counseling to survivors of sexual abuse.

This extensive clinical background gives me a deep understanding of how trauma, loss, and family disruption affect people at every age. I bring that experience into every session, whether I am working with an 8-year-old dealing with anxiety, a teenager struggling with depression, or an adult navigating life after divorce.

Who I Work With

Children (Ages 8+)

I work with children ages 8 and older who are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, divorce adjustment, and behavioral challenges. I use age-appropriate techniques to help kids understand and manage their emotions, build coping skills, and feel more confident.

Teens

Adolescence brings its own set of pressures. I help teens work through depression, anxiety, school stress, self-esteem issues, identity questions, peer pressure, and trauma. My approach is direct and respectful, meeting teens where they are.

Parents

Parenting is demanding, and it gets harder during times of change. I provide parenting support, co-parenting guidance after divorce, and help parents improve communication with their children at every developmental stage.

Adults

I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, grief, and life transitions including divorce and relationship changes. Therapy is focused on building practical skills and making real progress.

Families

I help families work through communication breakdowns, divorce adjustment, blended family challenges, and major transitions. Family therapy focuses on strengthening relationships and building understanding between family members.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is evidence-based and tailored to each client's age, needs, and goals. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic techniques, and relaxation strategies. Therapy moves at each person's pace. I focus on building practical skills, identifying patterns that are not working, and developing new ways to handle what life brings. My goal is to help clients feel stronger, more capable, and better equipped to face their challenges.
